Renshi Hawkins began his study of chito-ryu at the ripe age of 2.  As the son of Lawrence C. Hawkins, Jr., who established Yoseikan Cincinnati, training has always been on-going.

In addition to providing a dojo home with skillful instruction, he is a practicing attorney. He is the brother of a fellow yudansha, married, and the father of two fellow karate-ka.

Renshi Hawkins utilizes the skillfulness of other yudansha in instruction.  Sensei and students learn through training.
